The National Recognition Information Centre for the United Kingdom (UK NARIC)
UK NARIC is the UK’s National Agency responsible for providing information and advice on how vocational, academic and professional qualifications from over 180 countries worldwide compare with those on offer in the UK.

The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA)
The UKCISA site features downloadable guidance notes covering various aspects of living and studying in the UK.

The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)
UCAS is the UK central organisation through which applications are processed for entry to undergraduate-level programmes and some postgraduate ones.

Studential.com
Studential provides in-depth information and advice on applying to, and studying at, university in the UK. The site features over 900 UCAS personal statement samples, and Studential also offers a university application editing and critique servce.

UK PASS
UKPASS was established in 2007 by UCAS to provide an admissions service that would help institutions recruit postgraduate students and give applicants a simple and efficient online application.

The National Union of Students (NUS)
The NUS represents the interests of around five million of students in the UK, offering information and advice, helping them to campaign, and arranging cheap student discounts.

Student Stories is an innovative online resource offering honest accounts of university life in the UK from those who have experienced it first hand. The site features hundreds of audio clips, generated from informal interviews with current undergraduates and recent graduates from a range of UK universities, including many international students.

Rightmove Students 
The student section of the UK’s number one property website, Rightmove Students lists a vast range of student accommodation across the UK, from small student flats to large shared student houses. Accommodation is listed on a per person/per week basis to make it easier to see how far your budget will stretch. You can search thousands of student properties by postcode or location, and the site also features articles about choosing where to live during your studies and the practicalities involved when renting in the private sector.

Studentpad
Studentpad aims to help students in the UK find the most suitable accommodation as easily and as quickly as possible. The site features a constantly updated database of both private and university-owned accommodation for students across the UK.

The Naked Tenant
Written and researched by students, this site gives you the naked truth about renting student accommodation in the UK. The Naked Tenant’s guide covers all aspects of student accommodation, including finding the right place to live, the renting process, your rights as a tenant and moving out at the end of your stay. The site also features a series of university guides, which provide information about accommodation options and reviews of letting agents for all UK universities.

Nido Student Living
Nido Student Living offers state-of-the-art accommodation for students in London’s King’s Cross, Spitalfields and Notting Hill. Residents benefit from free broadband access in rooms and communal areas, and their room keys double as a cashless card that can be used in on-site facilities such as the cafe or laundry. Other benefits include free secure bike storage, a programme of events and free gym membership.

The Student Housing Company
The Student Housing Company offers en-suite student rooms and student apartments close to major universities in London, Birmingham, Bangor, Lincoln and Bournemouth (opening July 2012). The Company aims to raise students’ expectations about accommodation, service, building quality and communication.

HOST UK 
A voluntary organisation, HOST UK is a network of UK residents who welcome adult international students to their homes for a weekend, or Christmas, visit.

London International Meetup 
An international social group in London that welcomes students, workers and visitors who find themselves in the UK’s capital city. The group provides a chance to make new friends from many different cultures and backgrounds.

The Department for Education

The British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education (BAC)
The national accrediting body for independent further and higher education (HE), which now accredits more than 400 UK institutions.

Higher education

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA)
The QAA is an independent body established to help maintain standards in the UK higher-education sector. Its assessments of individual institution’s performances are posted on the website.

The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE)
Provides detailed information on the performance of each university and each of its subject areas in the latest research assessment exercise held in 2008.

Research Councils UK
This is a strategic partnership of the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, the Economic and Social Research Council, the Medical Research Council, the Natural Environment Research Council and the Science and Technology Facilities Council, and is concerned with the funding of postgraduate studies, research and training in the UK.

Unistats
This official website uniquely publishes Teaching Quality Information (TQI), which brings together information provided by HESA (the Higher Education Statistics Agency) and the National Student Survey in one place to enable users to easily compare UK undergraduate courses and universities, as well as post-graduation career courses.
